Here are some suggestions that require little time or effort:

  • Set your ceiling fan to cool
  • Move furniture away from air-conditioning units
  • Check the fan speed option on your unit
  • Look at the direction of the vents in your apartment
  • Inspect your unit filters
  • See if your unit has a timer to only cool at certain time of day
