Happy Fathers’s Day

According to Wikipedia, Father’s Day was first observed on July 5, 1908 in Fairmont, West Virginia. The local event was celebrated in honor of 250 fathers who died in the Monongah mining disaster. A number of attempts were made over the years that followed to turn Father’s Day into a national celebration. In 1972, President Richard Nixon signed into law that Father’s Day would be a national holiday.
