Renters Insurance is Important for Apartment Residents
November 12, 2015
Did you realize that only about a third of renters have coverage compared to nearly all homeowners? The fact that you don’t own your apartment doesn’t mean you don’t need to insure what’s in it. In most cases, your belongings are not going to be covered by your landlord’s insurance policy. Renters insurance is likely to cost you less than $10 a month and when you think about what you have at risk if you were to lose everything you own in a fire, theft, or any other possible disaster, it’s well worth the cost. If you have auto insurance, you may be able to get a multi-policy discount by adding a renters insurance policy. If you are part of the 31% of renters without coverage, give some thought to getting renters insurance!
