In East Memphis: El Día de los Muertos Community Day

Celebrate the Day of the Dead at the Brooks with hands-on art making activities, music, dance and theater on November 2 from 10 – 1 pm at the Brooks Museum. Catch a performance by Cazateatro, Danza Azteca Quetzalcoatl, and Mariachi Guadalajara. Watch Mexican artist Yancy Villa-Calvo demonstrate the traditional art of papel picado, and take in the exhibition of student-made ofrendas (altars). From 11:45 am to 12:15 pm, Rhodes College presents Hora de cuentos (Spanish Story Time) in the Kraft Gallery.
